E-JAM Employment Jamaica a human resource agency serving employers and job seekers in Jamaica, will launch its “One Stop Online Jobs & Career Service” at the Jamaica Employers Federation (JEF) Convention 2009 at the Sunset Jamaica Grande  Resort & Spa from May 21-24, 2009.

E-JAM most important goal is to get Jamaican employers to utilize the internet as a one stop data source - to reach a broader pool of qualified job seekers. 80% of jobseekers worldwide post resumes and search jobs online.  By employers posting their jobs online, job seekers are able to see the options available to them quickly.

At the (JEF) Convention, E-JAM’s booth #32, will feature a free internet café and free wireless internet access. Counselors will be on hand to provide demonstrations to employers on how easy it is to utilize the online recruiting tools to search 1000’s of resumes and post job vacancies. Job seekers will be able to take advantage of career advice about local and overseas employment, critique resume service and view a demonstration on how to upload their resumes.

As part of their launch, E-JAM will offer discounted rates to employers attending the convention and allow them to post jobs online and search E-JAM’s database for employees. Participants can also win “Dinner for Two” at the exotic Evita’s Italian Restaurant” in Ocho Rios, when they sign up on E-JAM’S listing.

The company invites all Jamaican businesses and job seekers to visit their website at www.employmentjamaica.com and take advantage of the online facilities to post job vacancies and resumes.

CEO of E-JAM, Employment Jamaica Ltd. Yvonne Russell says that E-JAM’S primary mission is simply … “putting Jamaica to work”.  Our GOAL is to provide innovative employment and training solutions in order to support economic prosperity.

She states that the company’s state of the art website with an interactive employer/job seeker interface with over 7,000 job seekers who posted their resumes and thousands more who have registered on the website, is now the fastest growing Jamaican job site on the internet and will continue to provide cost effective and efficient services to employers and job seekers alike. The website is now into its fifth year of operation and maintains a high rank on the internet search engines.

According to Mrs. Russell, the internet is now considered the most internationally recognized efficient tool, for job search, recruiting and career enhancement. This internet resource is grossly under used in Jamaica. Mrs. Russell believes that if we are to keep pace with the 21st century job market, a collaborative vision and effort is needed among the business sector, to promote and establish this online tool.

E-JAM’S upcoming Power Workshops scheduled for June through to September 2009 will feature topics: “Getting a Job In 2009,” “Starting Your Own Business and “Basic Computer Skills.”  The workshops will take place in Kingston, Ocho Rios and Montego Bay and are open to all.
